Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve 

It is located in the far-eastern lowland Terai of Nepal.

The pristine sub-tropical jungle makes it the second largest wildlife reserve in the Terai.

The reserve was originally a hunting area and was later converted to wildlife reserve to protect swamp deer.The reserve now shelters almost 2,000 swamp deer, approximately 50 wild elephants and 30 tigers.

Other animals found in this region are spotted deer, blue bulls, barking deer, hog deer, wild boar, leopard, jackal, langur and rhesus monkey. among birds sarus crane, swamp francolin, grass owl, warblers,flycatchers and Bengal florican are found in the region.

Reptile species include marsh mugger, crocodile, cobra and python
