Sagarmatha National Park

The prime attraction is the Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world.

It was added to the World Heritage Site in 1979. The park is full of rugged terrain and deep gorges, glaciers and huge rocks.

The park offers a blend of natural and cultural tourist products. The vegetations is dominated by pine, hemlock forests, silver birch, rhododendron, and juniper trees.

The common wildlife in the park are Himalayan tahr, ghoral, musk deer, pikka weasel, jackal, black kear, wolf, lynx and snow leopard.

Birds inhabiting the park are over 193 species which include Danphe (Impeyan pheasant), blood pheasant, red-billed chough, yellow-billed chough, snow cock, snow pigeon, Himalayan griffon and lammergeyer.
